‘Literate Nepal’ campaign to be launched again

Kathmandu (RSS) : The government has again announced ‘Literate Nepal’ campaign for 2076 BS after the campaign failed to meet its goal. Although the government has been launching the campaign since 2072 BS with an objective of making Nepal a literate country, the campaign has not been able meet the goal so far.
The campaign has set a goal to declare Nepal as the literate country within 2076 BS by providing opportunity of minimum literacy to all Nepali citizens of 15 years and its above age. The cabinet meeting held on December 31, 2018 has declared 2076 BS as the ‘campaign year’ with the target of declaring Nepal as fully ‘Literate Nepal’ within coming two years.
‘Each One, Teach One’ programme would be launched to make the campaign a successful. Out of 77 districts, 47 districts have so far been declared as ‘Literate district’ within mid-July 2018, as per the government data.
